Examples of Duties
Under general direction, this position is responsible for conducting criminal investigations involving economic crimes that do not require a sworn law enforcement officer. These may include bank fraud, identity theft, embezzlement, misappropriation of funds, check fraud, phishing/online scams, and related offenses. Employees in this classification ensure the preservation and processing of all evidence relevant to investigations. The position also involves analyzing and preparing various reports and crime statistics. Duties include investigating complex financial crimes, interviewing victims and witnesses, collaborating with financial institutions, working closely with state and federal law enforcement partners, and utilizing resources such as Pawn Track, driver's license photos, RAPID, LPR, photo line-ups, CA Plus, RMS, BSO Booking, P2P, and other systems.
