OverviewThe Crew School Support Coordinator will integrate themselves into the weekly rhythm of Crew School and offer support to students in attendance and staff of the Education Department. Crew School is an academic support system for players within the Columbus Crew Academy. It occurs each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00AM-3:30PM. Students range from 8th-12th grade and are enrolled on online schooling platforms. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Build positive relationships with studentsMonitor student progress Assist students in completion of assignments, projects, test preparationIndividualize and deliver instruction for grade levels 8-12Help students grow their executive functioning skillsLearn differing online platforms to best help students stay organized & on taskContribute to building an atmosphere that consistently represents the Columbus Crew values of passion, accountability, high work ethic, and growth mindset Desired ExperiencePreferred Ohio teaching license or degree in educationPrior experience working with kids in an educational or leadership capacityAbility to monitor student progress and intervene when students fall behindStrong organizational skills with experience tracking performance data, attendance, or academic progressExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, and staffExperience building positive relationships with adolescents and motivating reluctant learnersExperience using spreadsheets or data tracking tools to monitor student performanceAbility to work independently while collaborating as part of an instructional team Position OpportunitiesSupport the academic and personal growth of Crew Academy studentsEngage in the daily rhythm of the Crew AcademyContribute to a positive environment that offers students proper social and academic engagement during their journey through the Columbus Crew AcademyBe a valued member of a small department where your voice and perspective can impact the growth of the quickly expanding Crew School Program
