Crew Lead – Industrial Manufacturing
Atlantic Staffing Consultants is seeking an experienced Crew Lead for a client in the Wilmington, NC area. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a well-established industrial manufacturing operation.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in production and machine operation within an industrial or manufacturing environment and is comfortable leading employees while remaining actively involved in daily production. Experience loading and unloading railcars is a major plus.
Schedule & Pay
Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
4/10 schedule – enjoy 3-day weekends!
30-minute unpaid lunch
Starting pay: $18.75/hour
$1.00/hour increase upon permanent hire with the client
Some Fridays and Saturdays may be required based on production needs
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a dependable, hands-on leader who can help keep the crew safe, productive, and on schedule. The right candidate should have:
Previous industrial manufacturing or production experience
Experience operating or working around production machinery/equipment
Previous lead, crew lead, or similar leadership experience preferred
Railcar loading/unloading experience is a strong plus
Strong work ethic and dependability
Good problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to lead by example and provide direction to crew members
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to make minor equipment adjustments
Ability to work safely in an industrial environment
High school diploma or GED preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Key Responsibilities
As Crew Lead, you will work closely with the Production Supervisor and management to support daily production and provide hands-on leadership to the crew. Responsibilities include:
Lead by example and serve as a positive role model and mentor to crew members.
Help ensure appropriate staffing, training, materials, and supplies are available to support daily production.
Provide employees with direction, knowledge, and support throughout the shift.
Monitor production activities to help the crew meet or exceed production and quality goals.
Ensure crew members follow all safety, quality, and operating procedures.
Communicate clearly and professionally with crew members, Quality Control Technicians, Supervisors, and management.
Complete assigned production and quality reports accurately and on time.
Monitor production equipment and perform minor mechanical adjustments when appropriate; notify maintenance when additional repairs are needed.
Ensure proper equipment and line startup, shutdown, and order changes.
Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of production areas.
Inspect work areas and equipment throughout the shift for safety, quality, and operational concerns.
Delegate work as directed by the Production Supervisor or Production Manager.
Work with management to identify and implement ideas that improve productivity, equipment performance, safety, and crew performance.
Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
