Coaches are expected to be outstanding citizens/mentors who provide leadership as role models for students
All newly hired coaches must obtain certification through the National Federation of Interscholastic Coaches Education Program or the American Sport Education Program within one year of being cleared/approved as a coach for Chesapeake Public Schools
Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition and Intervention Training (
Negative TB test or screening result (completed within the last 12 months)
Required to attend annual concussion training course through Chesapeake Public Schools
Relevant coaching experience, knowledge of the sport and the ability to support student development
