Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Credit Manager to lead our client's global Credit and Accounts Receivable organization. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the complete credit and AR lifecycle, including credit risk, collections, cash application, customer deductions and disputes, account reconciliation, bad debt, cash forecasting, and order-to-cash.
The ideal candidate brings deep credit expertise and can confidently evaluate customer risk, establish credit limits and payment terms, manage international exposure, and make sound decisions around credit holds and order releases.
This person will also be a highly visible partner to senior Finance leadership, providing insight into DSO, aging, bad debt, cash collections, and overall portfolio performance.
While this is a strategic leadership position, it is not a hands-off management role. The Credit Manager should be comfortable getting into the details, resolving complex customer issues, investigating discrepancies, and supporting the team directly when needed.
Responsibilities
  • Lead global Credit, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Cash Application, and Order-to-Cash operations
  • Evaluate new and existing customers for creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit limits and payment terms
  • Manage domestic and international credit exposure and customer risk
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce credit and collection policies
  • Monitor AR aging, DSO, CEI, current AR, 90+ aging, and bad debt performance
  • Lead collection strategy and drive improvement in cash flow and past-due balances
  • Manage customer disputes, deductions, rebates, and pricing discrepancies
  • Oversee credit holds and order releases in partnership with Sales, Logistics, and Supply Chain
  • Manage dealer and distributor credit programs across domestic and international markets
  • Oversee cash application, account reconciliations, write-offs, and related month-end activity
  • Manage bad debt and bad debt reserves in partnership with the Assistant Controller
  • Develop cash collection forecasts and executive-level AR reporting
  • Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Credit/AR team
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and systems enhancements
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance across Credit and AR processes

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive Credit, Collections, and/or Accounts Receivable experience
  • Significant experience owning credit decisions, including creditworthiness evaluation, credit limits, terms, holds, and risk management
  • Global/international credit and collections experience required
  • Strong full-cycle AR experience including collections, aging, cash application, reconciliations, deductions, and disputes
  • Previous team leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of DSO, bad debt, AR aging, cash forecasting, and collection performance
  • Experience within manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, electronics, or a similar environment preferred
  • Strong ERP experience; PeopleSoft, Oracle, Epicor, SAP, NetSuite, or similar systems
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience driving process improvement and automation
  • Power BI and AI/automation experience highly valued
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
  • Ability to work onsite in San Clemente, CA
