ABOUT THE ROLEA financial institution is seeking a Wholesale Credit Analyst to help address a growing credit analysis backlog and support the continued development of its credit risk capabilities. This role will analyze borrower financials, assess creditworthiness, and support risk-rating activities within a regulated banking environment.
Fluency in Portuguese is required, as the majority of documentation and financial statements reviewed by the team are provided in Portuguese.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform wholesale credit analysis and evaluate borrower financial condition and creditworthiness.
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow, debt service coverage, profitability, leverage, and other key credit metrics.
- Review and interpret financial and business documentation received from Portuguese-speaking stakeholders.
- Support credit risk-rating activities and apply appropriate credit risk methodologies.
- Assist with developing and strengthening the team s credit analysis and risk-rating practices.
- Identify key credit risks, trends, and potential areas of concern through financial and qualitative analysis.
- Prepare clear credit analysis and supporting materials for internal review and decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with senior credit professionals and other stakeholders to resolve questions and obtain necessary information.
- Help reduce the existing credit analysis backlog while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Apply strong attention to detail when reviewing financial information and supporting documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS- 1 3 years of experience in wholesale/commercial credit analysis.
- Fluent Portuguese speaker;Brazilian Portuguese fluency strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial statement and cash flow analysis.
- Experience evaluating debt service coverage, profitability, leverage, and other credit metrics.
- Knowledge of credit risk-rating methodologies;experience with OCC guidelines is preferred.
- Prior experience within a bank or financial institution preferred.
- Experience within an OCC-regulated institution is a plus.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader credit team.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment with 1 day per week remote.
