    Description

    Position Overview:
    The Credit Analyst supports the Ag and Business Banking team by analyzing financial information, evaluating credit requests, and preparing credit presentations. This role partners with lenders across multiple markets to support sound credit decisions, maintain accurate loan documentation, and assist with portfolio oversight. The position also provides opportunities to develop commercial lending expertise through customer interaction, field inspections, and participation in loan origination activities.

    Job Duties:
    • Analyze and input financial information using the bank's financial analysis software.
    • Prepare financial spreads, cash flow analyses, projections, credit presentations, and periodic credit reviews.
    • Support portfolio monitoring and reporting, including construction loan reporting, credit review tracking, and loan committee reporting.
    • Coordinate with lenders and customers to obtain documentation for credit file maintenance.
    • Participate in customer visits, banker calls, field inspections, and collateral reviews to strengthen credit and relationship management skills.
    • Assist with internal real estate valuations or valuation reviews, as needed.
    • Develop a thorough understanding of the bank's loan policy and applicable lending regulations, including HMDA, ECOA, BSA, and AML.
    • Learn the bank's products and services to support customer relationship growth.
    • Develop the skills necessary to originate and manage an agricultural and commercial loan portfolio under delegated authority.
    • Support department initiatives and contribute to bank-wide goals and projects.

    Job Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience in credit analysis, loan processing, accounting, or financial recordkeeping.
    • Credit analysis experience preferred but not required.
    • Understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, tax returns, and basic accounting principles.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
    • NMLS registration, or the ability to obtain registration.

    Physical Requirements:
    • Primarily works in an office environment using a computer and standard office equipment.
    • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while reviewing financial information and preparing reports.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing.
    • Ability to read and interpret detailed financial, regulatory, and policy documents.
    • Occasional travel for customer meetings, site visits, or inspections.
    • Occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
