We are seeking a Credentialing Specialist to join our team!

Responsibilities:

The Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the verification of healthcare practitioner information for a number of assigned hospitals. Verifies information for Initial Appointments, Reappointments, and additional privileges. Requires detailed and challenging practitioner research at times. Primary methods of research include online, phone, fax, and email correspondence. This position serves as a liaison between the hospital administration and the medical staff for all credentialing purposes. Position is remote based.

 

Required Skills:

  • High School Education or Equivalent required
  • Experience with physician credentialing and privileging within a hospital environment required.
  • CPCS preferred or ability to obtain certification within 3-5 years.
  • Knowledge of TJC medical staff standards required.
  • Must have experience using the MD-STAFF credentialing program.

Additional Qualifications/Skills:

  • Multi-hospital experience preferred.

  • Associates degree preferred.

  • Advanced computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database), ability to readily adapt to new technology and more efficient processes.

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail required.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, manages multiple tasks and deadlines, and function with limited supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate professionally, both written and oral.

  • Ability to maintain positive and professional attitude, as well as a continued desire to enhance and expand job skills and knowledge.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.

  • Promotes a paper light / paperless process for all credentialing master files.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of Credentialing Practices.

  • Proficient in collecting and retrieving information from MD-Staff Credentialing Database.

  • Problem solving with ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
