Position Description:

Location: Simpson Hall 6 Harrington Rd, Cranston, RI Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Position Overview
RI BHDDH is seeking an experienced Grants Project Specialist to support the administration, implementation, and monitoring of the State Opioid Settlement Funds. This position will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with state and federal grant requirements while coordinating efforts across multiple departments to support program objectives and successful grant outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide oversight of the State Opioid Settlement funds and ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, requirements, and standards.
Coordinate processes, activities, and internal resources across multiple departments to ensure grant requirements are met and project goals are achieved.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders involved in the implementation and ongoing monitoring of SOR-funded initiatives.
Attend and actively participate in meetings related to grant operations, implementation strategies, performance monitoring, and compliance activities.
Ensure BHDDH leadership has access to accurate and timely information necessary to support organizational goals and informed decision-making throughout the grant lifecycle.
Monitor contract performance and evaluate the effectiveness of contractor relationships and service delivery.
Identify challenges, risks, and barriers to successful outcomes and work proactively with organizational leaders to develop and implement solutions.
Support continuous improvement efforts to maximize program effectiveness and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, LCDP preferred, Public Health, Human Services, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, along with five (5) years of relevant professional clinical experience; OR
Some college coursework combined with five (5) years of experience working with Rhode Island state agencies and behavioral health organizations

Required Knowledge and Experience
Substance use clinical experience
Knowledge of behavioral health services, programs, and resources at the local, state, and national levels.
Understanding of state and federal grant administration, compliance, and performance monitoring.
Experience coordinating projects and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to guide organizations in meeting and exceeding regulatory and program standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
