This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Metals/Jewelry Technician for the Craft Center at Oregon State University (OSU).
The OSU Craft Center is a warm & welcoming place that supports and promotes creative endeavors in the arts by providing a dynamic environment, resources and programs in which people can foster their own creativity. The Craft Center provides a space for students to socialize, unwind, think creatively and learn in a noncompetitive environment. It also gives support to other departments by providing programs, space and equipment as needed.
The OSU Craft Center is looking for enthusiastic students to provide studio support in our metals/jewelry studio. The part-time position(6-10 hours per week) allows student workers to maintain their studies as well as balance work priorities. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills and is comfortable assessing and addressing the needs of individual makers in the metals/jewelry studio. In this position, you will join our team to help Craft Center members meet their creative needs by ensuring that the studio is kept clean, functional and safe while assisting studio users.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
