    District-Wide / Pupil Personnel Services

    The Public Schools of the Tarrytowns are seeking a dedicated CPSE/CSE Chairperson to plan, organize, and implement appropriate programming to address the learning needs of students with varying abilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IDEA, NYS Regulations, and experience in supporting students in diverse settings. Bilingual-Spanish speaking candidates encouraged to apply.

    Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Works with Senior Office Assistants to coordinate all annual review meetings K-12

    • The CPSE/CSE Chairperson will assist and support the day-to-day management of CSE functions district-wide

    • Uphold legal requirements and IDEA regulations and NYSED Part 200 & 201

    • Assist in the compliance and submission of all NYS Special Education State Performance Plan requirements

    • Determine appropriate programming decisions for students in the least restrictive environment

    • Facilitate Committee on Special Education meetings

    • Monitor the delivery of special education programs and services to ensure compliance with legal guidelines and provide technical assistance, resources and support as needed

    • Engage special education and related service staff to ensure high quality programs and services are provided pursuant to each student's IEP

    • Assist families and providers through ongoing communication and support

    • Works with Director of Special Education to plan and implement staff development in-service training around all CPSE/CSE responsibilities

    • Monitor and assist providers with IEP writing, development and implementation

    • Collaborate with district level administrators, principals, assistant principals, and special education teachers as well as other specialists

    • Demonstrate strong communication skills and leadership qualities to work effectively with all stakeholders.

    • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Services and/or the Director for Special Education

    Required NYS Certification(s): NYS SDL/SDA (School District Leader/Administrator): Plus one of the following: NYS Certified Special Education, School Psychologist, Social Worker, or other related field

    Appointment Type: Probationary Track

    Effective: September 1, 2025 (must work 20 days during the summer at per diem rate)

    Salary: Salary and benefits per the TAA Contract-range for teachers based on experience and education.
