Position Duties:Duties include, but are not limited to; locating and recovering stolen vehicles, identifying vehicle theft trends, conducting chop shop investigations, identifying stolen vehicles that been disguised through VIN altering and/or title washing, fraudulent vehicle purchases, investigating carjackings, interviewing victims of auto theft, suspect interviews, familiarity with technology pertinent to auto theft, collecting forensic evidence, testifying at criminal proceedings, report writing, and collaborating with local, state and federal agencies to reduce and prevent incidents of auto theft. Work includes conducting auto theft and auto theft-related investigations, interviewing suspects and witnesses, collecting evidence, conducting surveillance and making arrests.
