Counterparty Credit Risk Operations IT Lead
Location: New York City, hybrid, approximately 2 to 3 days onsite per week

About the Role
A global financial institution is seeking a senior technology operations leader to oversee production stability, resilience, and continuous improvement for business-critical counterparty credit risk platforms. This role supports systems used for exposure calculation, limit monitoring, risk reporting, intraday analysis, and regulatory reporting workflows.

This is a Director-level leadership position for someone who can combine people management, hands-on technical credibility, operational discipline, and risk technology domain expertise. The successful candidate will lead a global support model, improve SLA performance, reduce manual intervention, strengthen controls, and partner closely with business, risk, engineering, infrastructure, and offshore teams.
What You ll Tackle
Own production operations for platforms supporting counterparty exposure, limits, reporting, and pre-trade analysis

Lead incident, problem, change, and release management across critical risk technology systems

Drive root cause analysis and permanent fixes for recurring production issues

Define and improve operational KPIs, including availability, MTTR, SLA breaches, reruns, and batch success rates

Strengthen offshore support effectiveness through runbooks, documentation, escalation paths, and ownership models

Partner with engineering and infrastructure teams to improve observability, alerting, automation, and resilience

Support audit, regulatory, security, access, change, data integrity, and control requirements

Lead operational improvements across batch monitoring, data validation, reconciliations, and recovery processes
What You Bring
15+ years of IT Operations or Production Support experience within financial services

5+ years in a Director-level or equivalent leadership role supporting risk, exposure, trading, or similar platforms

Strong people management experience across global, offshore, or distributed teams

Domain knowledge in counterparty credit risk, exposure management, derivatives, market data, limits, collateral, margin, stress testing, or risk reporting

Hands-on technical background with SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, and Python

Experience supporting batch-intensive and intraday platforms in regulated environments

Strong understanding of incident management, problem management, change governance, release controls, and SLA management

Ability to communicate clearly with senior business, risk, and technology stakeholders

Bachelor s degree required
Nice to Have
ITIL, cloud, DevOps, Agile, or reliability engineering certifications

Experience with Java, Angular, PySpark, ETL, stored procedures, Azure, ADF, Spark, PowerBI, or Medallion architecture

Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, and KPI dashboards

DR/BCP testing experience for critical production systems

Exposure to model governance, audit, regulatory exams, or control maturity reviews
