Job Title: Will Call Counter Salesperson
Pay: $21.50 per hour
Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, plus overtime as needed

As a Will Call Counter Salesperson, you'll play a vital role in supporting our customer needs—providing expert product advice, processing sales, and ensuring every customer leaves satisfied. You'll work closely with the team to maintain a clean, organized counter, accurately process orders, and uphold safety standards, making a real impact in a growth-oriented company.

What You'll Do
As a Will Call Counter Salesperson, you will be responsible for:
  • Assisting walk-in customers with merchandise purchases and pickups at our Costa Mesa will-call counter.
  • Processing and filling sales orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring each sales ticket is signed and dated.
  • Providing customers with reliable information regarding product specifications, prices, and availability.
  • Keeping the counter area tidy, organized, stocked, and safely displayed to create a welcoming environment.
  • Upkeeping security measures and controlling access at the customer contact point.
  • Communicating with the Profit Center Manager and Credit Manager about any customer changes or credit risks.
  • Handling cash sale returns and refunds according to company policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and alerting the team to any stock shortages that might affect customer service.
  • Supporting co-workers by answering incoming calls, stocking warehouse merchandise, and pulling orders for delivery.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth daily operations.

What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales, with contractor sales experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, heating, or industrial products is a plus.
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to suggest related products to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols in warehouse and material handling environments, with ability to learn warehouse equipment operation and hand tools.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Familiarity with order-processing software such as Eclipse or Mincron.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.

Location & Schedule:
This is an onsite position in Costa Mesa, California, working from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime.
