    JOB

    PURPOSE

    SUMMARY:

    This

    position

    is

    established

    to

    provide

    specialized

    mental

    health

    support

    and

    interventions

    for

    students

    experiencing

    emotional

    and

    behavioral

    challenges.

    It

    aims

    to

    facilitate

    reintegration

    for

    students

    returning

    from

    hospitalizations,

    provide

    crisis

    counseling,

    and

    ensure

    comprehensive

    care

    through

    coordination

    with

    school

    and

    community

    resources.

    The

    role

    also

    seeks

    to

    enhance

    the

    overall

    mental

    health

    awareness

    and

    support

    within

    the

    school

    community.

    KEY

    FUNCTIONS,

    ESSENTIAL

    DUTIES,

    AND

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Specialized

    Counseling:

    1.

    Assist

    school

    counselors

    with

    coordinating

    interventions

    with

    students,

    acting

    as

    intervention

    specialist

    2.

    Provide

    follow-up

    and

    reintegration

    plan

    and

    services

    for

    students

    returning

    to

    school

    from

    hospitalizations

    other

    facility

    stays;

    and

    comprehensive

    follow

    up

    to

    all

    students

    served

    3.

    Make

    home

    visits

    upon

    request

    and/or

    as

    appropriate,

    based

    on

    collaboration

    with

    campus/district

    staff

    and

    accordance

    with

    department

    guidelines

    4.

    Counsel

    at-risk

    students

    with

    presenting

    needs/concerns.

    5.

    Provide

    individual

    and

    small

    group

    counseling,

    based

    on

    at-risk

    and

    mental

    health

    needs

    6.

    Make

    home

    visits

    upon

    request

    and/or

    as

    appropriate,

    based

    on

    collaboration

    with

    campus/district

    staff

    and

    in

    accordance

    with

    department

    guidelines

    7.

    Use

    accepted

    theories

    and

    techniques

    appropriate

    to

    school

    counseling.

    8.

    Consult

    with

    parents,

    teachers,

    administrators,

    and

    other

    relevant

    individuals

    to

    enhance

    their

    work

    with
