    Position: Part - Time Counselor

    Position Overview:

    As a Counselor at Medi-Weightloss, you’ll inspire patients to transform their health and well-being through evidence-based nutrition, behavior modification, and compassionate coaching. You’ll serve as a trusted guide on each patient’s weight-loss journey — combining clinical expertise with motivational support to help them achieve sustainable results.     Essential Job Functions:

    Patient Counseling & Education

    • Conduct one-on-one consultations to assess patient needs and develop customized nutrition and wellness plans.

    • Deliver motivational, uplifting guidance that helps patients make lasting behavior and lifestyle changes.

    • Monitor progress, identify challenges, and adjust care plans under provider supervision.

    • Consult regularly with on-site providers to seek guidance for patients with more complex medical conditions or challenging complications.

    • Defer to providers for direct medical oversight of patients whose nutrition plan or customized program requires additional clinical input.

    • Educate patients on nutrition, exercise, and behavior modification for long-term weight management success.

    • Conduct follow-up calls to discuss progress, answer questions, and provide ongoing encouragement.

    Clinical Support

    • Obtain and record patient vitals, prepare laboratory order forms, and ensure timely follow-up on results.

    • Assist the physician or provider with patient referrals and other clinical tasks as needed.

    • Maintain accuracy and compliance with all clinical policies, EMR documentation, and patient confidentiality standards.

    Administrative & Operational Support

    • Perform follow-up calls and administrative tasks to ensure seamless patient experiences.

    • Support clinic operations, including inventory management and scheduling as needed.

    • Participate in marketing efforts, patient referral initiatives, and community outreach to promote the Medi-Weightloss brand.

    • Train and mentor new team members on daily procedures, patient engagement, and clinical best practices.


    Qualifications

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Nutrition, Exercise Science, Health Education, or related field preferred.

    • Active BLS Certification

    • Previous experience in patient counseling, health coaching, or a clinical setting preferred.

    • Strong foundation in nutrition, exercise, and behavior change principles.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with EMR systems preferred.

    • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.

    • Demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and integrity in all interactions.
