Our Chambersburg Outpatient Program provides a supportive, therapeutic environment where individuals build resilience, develop coping skills, and reclaim their health and well-being. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our outpatient clinical team.

Position Summary

The Counselor is responsible for providing individual, group, and family counseling services within our outpatient treatment program. This role also supports clinical operations, client assessments, treatment planning, utilization reviews, and documentation to ensure high-quality care and positive treatment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy services.
• Conduct client intake assessments and assist in developing individualized treatment plans.
• Support daily clinical operations, including assessments, therapeutic services, and utilization review processes.
• Complete insurance authorizations and utilization reviews as required.
• Maintain an active caseload and ensure documentation is completed accurately and within required timeframes.
• Attend supervision meetings, shift-change meetings, and other required organizational meetings.
• Assist the Program Director with program coverage and operational needs.
• Maintain organized, compliant client records and perform related clerical duties.
• Actively engage with clients and provide support throughout the treatment process.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when necessary.
• Complete all required trainings and continuing education requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

• Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field; or
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field; or
• Current CADC or CAADC certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in mental health, substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorder treatment settings.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, state licensing requirements, and CARF standards.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage crisis situations effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Flexible, dependable, and adaptable approach to client care and teamwork.
