The ideal candidate will provide sound legal advice and counsel to internal agencies and business units within Publicis Groupe who are focused on digital business transformation, e‑commerce, adtech, media and data. Each day in this role will be different, as this position supports a variety of activities.ResponsibilitiesKey DeliverablesContract drafting and negotiations with external clients, vendors and partnersActing as the main touchpoint for certain agency teamsAdvising and guiding business teams on day‑to‑day operational issuesGeneral DutiesNegotiate, review, and draft a variety of agreements, with a particular focus on client master service agreements, statements of work, data license agreements, and agreements with vendorsResearch and provide concise advice on a wide variety of matters related to technology, media and dataWork closely and collaboratively with attorneys, finance, operations, security, risk, privacy experts, business development, and account teams on a variety of matters, which might include IP matters, agency law, data ownership, data privacy compliance, document review, dispute resolution, and internal reportingProvide legal and best practices training to management and account teamsMake proactive contributions that maximize departmental efficiencies and simplify processesMaintain awareness and understanding of the latest developments in the law and industry standards as they relate to digital media, and advertising technologyProvide support to senior members of the legal teamOther various duties expected of a general practitionerCompetenciesExhibit leadership and confidence while also participating effectively and constructively as a member of a teamAbility to exercise sound judgement and to work independently and efficiently under time constraints and deadlines in a fast‑paced, demanding environmentPossess a high level of business acumen with impressive organizational skillsAbility to collaborate well with a diverse team of stakeholdersAbility to provide training on legal compliance and best practicesAbility to think critically and solve problems creativelyAbility to write and communicate clearly and effectively, including being precise and conciseAbility to manage large volume of competing priorities strategically and practically, without sacrificing attention to detailAbility to manage clients (both internal and external) with a customer service‑oriented approachAbility to demonstrate leadership skills and a positive approachQualificationsThe experience and education qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:JD from accredited law schoolCurrent membership in good standing of a state bar, preferably of Illinois or New YorkA minimum of 2‑3 years' experience as a transactional attorney at a national or recognized regional law firm or, preferably, as an in‑house attorney in a related fieldExperience independently negotiating, interpreting and drafting commercial agreementsSubject matter expertise in technology, media, data, advertising, and/or privacy is a plusPhysical RequirementsUse of computer, speaking on telephoneWritingDaily carrying laptop and occasional lifting of file boxesAbility to travelWork ConditionsPreference for candidates located in or near Chicago, IllinoisHybrid of both in‑office and remote (home internet access) workSome limited travel may be requiredEvening or weekend work (home internet access) as neededAdditional informationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) currently in this position.
