    POSITION OVERVIEW
    As a Cost & Value Engineer your roles and responsibilities will include:
    The client is seeking a Cost & Value Engineer (CVE) to support our manufacturing operations by driving product cost optimization throughout the product lifecycle. This role bridges engineering and financial analysis, helping develop competitive cost estimates, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support business proposals. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Supplier Quality, and Operations to improve product value while maintaining quality and performance.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Develop accurate bottom-up cost estimates for new and existing products.
    • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Analyze engineering drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing processes to optimize product cost and value.
    • Support proposal development by preparing detailed cost data for pricing decisions.
    • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, finance, supplier quality, and operations teams on cost optimization initiatives.
    • Evaluate product concepts using Design for Cost (DFC) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
    • Analyze historical cost data and develop cost models for future business opportunities.
    • Work with suppliers to identify manufacturing process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
    • Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and executive leadership.
    • Ensure cost estimates are accurate, transparent, and completed within proposal deadlines.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Cost & Value Engineer who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Cost & Value Engineer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, project engineering, cost engineering, or manufacturing support.
    • Experience performing bottom-up cost estimating and cost analysis.
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and 3D models.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or precision manufacturing environments.
    • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), or Value Engineering methodologies.
    • Experience working with suppliers on cost reduction initiatives.
    • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
    • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
