The Companys commitment to the IIF culture promotes a work environment where employee safety is paramount.About the OpportunityIt all starts with Estimating At GLDD cost estimators serve a pivotal role in planning design and pricing of bids for future work.We believe a successful team is comprised of mentors and coaches who support one another in learning sharing knowledge and expertise and encouraging growth. As a GLDD Cost Estimator you will design execution plans and develop cost estimates for large-scale dredging projects with the guidance and support of a team with decades of dredging experience. This position also provides a high-level of exposure to executive management with various growth opportunities. The position reports to the Vice President of Estimating.ResponsibilitiesProduce accurate cost estimates for hard bid projectsReview and summarize key elements of project plans and specificationsAbility to produce clear concise overview drawings for presentation and discussionsAbility to present the project and estimate during bid review sessions with senior managementDemonstrate strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability in the development of the estimateWork closely with various support departments in a team environmentCapable of effective time-management able to prioritize various project tasks simultaneously.Offer estimating support to on-site Project Managers during execution of projectUpdate and monitor project costs production and budget throughout construction.Additional duties as assigned.RequirementsBachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management - or equivalent and relevant work experienceMust possess at least one of the following3 years of relevant experience in the dredging andor marine construction industry5 years of relevant experience in a cost estimating position in a comparable industryProficient in standard Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word PowerPoint Outlook and TeamsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelEffective communicator and attentive listener with excellent attention to detailSelf-starter willing to learn and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic fast paced environmentCapacity to evaluate complex data weigh potential solutions and make informed decisionsExcellent written and oral communication skills for senior management reportingAnalytical experience utilizing PowerBi or similar software is a plusBenefitsCompetitive salary and bonus program.401k program that includes 100 company matching of the first 6 of employee contributions with immediate vesting.Annual profit-sharing contributions by the company to participants 401k accounts based on companys annual performance.Medical Dental Vision Prescription Life and Disability insurance plans.Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
