You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of design management to deliver key strategic outcomes & sub-function KPIs, directly influencing strategic development.
You will be a point of contact for client design issues, ensuring relationships are managed and maintained.
You will manage the implementation of design management systems, processes and protocols to meet statutory, legal, and contractual requirements.

You'll Be Responsible For :
Accountable for conducting feasibility studies and advising on procurement strategies and contract selection.
Applies value management techniques at early project stages to optimise cost and efficiency.
Leads estimating and cost planning activities, taking ownership of and presenting final cost plans.
Supports and contributes to all stages of the procurement process, including prequalification, enquiry, analysis and contract preparation.
Oversees preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds and licences, ensuring proper execution.
Provides advice on the administration of construction contracts and contractual obligations.
Manages the measurement and valuation of completed works, ensuring accurate cost control.
Ensures effective cost monitoring and produces monthly post-contract cost reports for clients.
Identifies and tracks costs related to design changes, construction activities and contract variations.
Evaluates contractor claims for delays and additional costs, providing informed recommendations.
Advises on certification processes, including practical completion, defect rectification and final completion.
Ensures final accounts are properly negotiated, agreed and closed out.
Leads and manages a team of cost consultants, providing direction, coaching and performance management.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal teams and senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making.
Drives continuous improvement initiatives, promotes best practices and supports sustainability and carbon reduction goals.
You'll need to have
Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
Commercial and financial acumen.
Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
Experience of managing parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
