We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled Permanent Cost Engineer to join our fast-paced construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling costs within our construction projects, ensuring maximum profitability and efficiency. This role involves a blend of technical engineering skills and financial acumen, offering an exciting opportunity for those who love to tackle challenges head-on. The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry, with a strong focus on cost management and financial control.
Responsibilities:
1. Conducting regular financial audits to ensure all costs are accounted for and within the project budget.
2. Creating, managing, and updating detailed financial reports for all construction projects.
3. Utilizing your expertise in concrete to make cost-effective decisions that do not compromise the quality of the project.
4. Performing risk assessments to identify potential cost overruns and developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
5. Utilizing analytics forecasting to predict future costs and project needs.
6. Developing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, from initial proposal to final completion.
7. Implementing and maintaining document control processes to ensure all financial documents are accurately recorded and stored.
8. Collaborating with project managers and other team members to develop and manage project budgets.
9. Identifying and implementing cost-saving strategies without compromising on project quality or safety.
10. Regularly reviewing and updating cost plans and cash flow forecasts.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cost Engineer in the construction industry.
3. Experience in concrete or construction, document control, financial reports, estimation, financial audits, risk assessment, analytics forecasting, and budget forecasting.
4. Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in an understandable manner.
6. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
8. A professional certification in cost engineering or a related field would be an advantage.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
10. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound financial decisions.
