Position Title: Cost Controls Specialist
Location: Mount Storm, WV 26739 (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $50–$52/hour on W2
Duration: 4 Months (Possible Extension)

Schedule: 40 hours/week with occasional overtime based on project needs
Mobilization/Demobilization: $500 one-time payment at the beginning and end of the assignment (subject to project policy).
Per Diem: Available for qualified candidates at GSA CONUS rates.Position Overview- We are seeking a Cost Controls Specialist to support a large capital generator outage project.
- This role will partner closely with Project Managers and Project Controls teams to manage financial, contractual, and accounting processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Support project procurement by creating and tracking Purchase Orders (POs)
- Process and maintain Change Orders (COs)
- Develop and maintain monthly cost forecasts
- Track project budgets, invoices, accruals, and financial performance
- Monitor contract milestones and funding levels
- Assist with project closeout activities, including asset unitization and retirement
- Support capital budget development and Project Request Forms (PRFs)
- Assist with audit documentation and financial reporting
- Generate SAP cost reports and analyze forecast vs. actual spending
- Recommend process improvements and support project controls activities
Required Qualifications- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience supporting capital projects with cost controls and financial reporting
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, accruals, invoices, and contract tracking
- Hands-on experience with SAP (financial/accounting transactions preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerApps)
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred- Experience supporting generator outage or large capital projects
- Knowledge of asset retirement and unitization processes
- Enterprise-level SAP experience
