Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month end cost accounting close, including inventory, WIP, and COGS entries and reconciliations
• Maintain and update standard costs, and analyze purchase price, labor, material, and overhead variances
• Oversee inventory valuation and physical inventory and cycle count programs across multiple facilities
• Maintain accurate BOMs and routings in partnership with operations
• Develop machine and labor rates and overhead allocation methods
• Provide production costing and plant floor financial analysis to support pricing, margin, and operational decisions
• Find cost savings opportunities and work with plant leaders to put them in place
• Support the integration of acquired facilities into company cost accounting processes
• Supervise, train, and develop cost accounting staff
• Prepare cost and inventory schedules for the annual audit and support internal controls over inventory
• Travel to manufacturing facilities as necessary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus
• 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with hands on cost accounting work
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
• Experience with BOMs, routings, and production costing
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Multi entity or multi plant experience a plus
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with an ERP system
• Comfortable working onsite and traveling to facilities as needed
