    Cost Accountant

    Saint Petersburg, FL | Hybrid

    A growing manufacturing company is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This position will partner closely with leadership to support cost accounting, inventory analysis, forecasting, financial reporting, and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, analyzing complex data, and providing insights that drive business performance.

    Cost Accountant Key Responsibilities

    • Analyze production costs, margins, absorption rates, and operational performance to ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Prepare variance analysis, fluctuation reporting, and management reports that provide actionable business insights.
    • Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities.
    • Assist with inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, cycle counts, work-in-process analysis, finished goods accounting, and inventory audits.
    • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close deliverables.
    • Partner with operations, supply chain, sales, and HR teams to support financial and operational initiatives.
    • Assist with external audits, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
    • Support ERP system enhancements, process improvements, and reporting automation efforts.
    • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and identify opportunities to improve efficiency across accounting workflows.

    Cost Accountant Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
    • Experience working with ERP systems. Experience with EPICOR is highly preferred.
    • Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and other reporting or data analysis tools.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
