Cost Accountant – Mishawaka, IN
Salary: $63,000 – $80,000 annually
About the Company and Cost Accountant Opportunity:
CFS is partnering with a well-established company in Mishawaka to hire a Cost Accountant
This Cost Accountant will manage cost accounting duties like analyzing product costs, tracking variance, and helping leadership make data-backed decisions about profitability
The right Cost Accountant will be detail-oriented, enjoy digging into numbers, and be the go-to person for all things cost, margin, and inventory
Position is fully in-office in Mishawaka, IN| Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Job Duties of the Cost Accountant:
Analyze manufacturing/product cost and cost of goods sold to determine room for improvement
Prepare monthly cost reports, perform variance analysis, and reconcile cost-related accounts
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis for new or existing products
Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and production teams to capture and control costs
Ensure accurate inventory valuation and periodic inventory reconciliations
Support audit and compliance efforts related to cost accounting
Qualifications for the Cost Accountant:
2-4 years of cost accounting or manufacturing accounting experience required
Strong ability with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (look for experience with cost modules)
Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills—ability to explain cost issues to non-finance colleagues
