Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of our cost accounting procedures, including the preparation and analysis of cost reports and costing audits.
- Develop and maintain the integrity of the cost accounting system, ensuring accurate and timely data capture.
- Conduct ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities.
- Coordinate with the finance team to complete budgeting and forecasting activities, providing accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Conduct regular variance analysis, identifying, investigating, and explaining variances in costs and margins.
- Oversee inventory control, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and implementing strategies to minimize inventory holding costs.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve operational efficiency, and achieve company objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of cost accounting standards and practices.
- Provide financial guidance and support to other departments, aiding in performance monitoring and decision making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification will be considered an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, managing general ledger, variance analysis, and inventory control.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, procedures, and standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound financial decisions.
