Overview

LHH is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization seeking a Cost/Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This is a highly visible role that will work closely with leadership and operations to drive financial performance, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making across the business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting, cost accounting, and inventory management, along with the ability to partner with operations leaders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position offers excellent career growth potential within finance, accounting, and broader operational leadership functions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and support month-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting

  • Provide financial analysis and decision support to leadership to drive profitable growth

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance procedures

  • Monitor and reconcile inventory balances while analyzing inventory transactions and valuation

  • Analyze manufacturing costs, labor variances, material usage, and production efficiencies

  • Support job costing processes to ensure accurate project and production profitability reporting

  • Assist with ERP implementation and process improvement initiatives

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses

  • Support intercompany accounting and reconciliation activities

  • Partner with plant and operations leadership to improve cost controls and operational performance

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts

  • Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement within accounting and reporting functions

  • Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory accounting

  • Experience working within ERP systems and financial reporting platforms

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across departments

  • Experience implementing and maintaining accounting controls and processes

Preferred Background

  • Manufacturing, fabrication, industrial services, or project-based accounting experience

  • ERP implementation experience

  • Knowledge of job costing, standard costing, and intercompany accounting

  • CPA or CMA designation preferred

  • Experience supporting audits and tax-related activities
