Cost Accountant

This position will play a critical role in supporting daily accounting operations while assisting the team through several active audits, allowing leadership to focus on key compliance initiatives. Accounting Associate 
Direct Hire | $60,000 - $70,000 DOE

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to join their team in a newly created role within the Accounting Department. This position will play a critical role in supporting daily accounting operations while assisting the team through several active audits, allowing leadership to focus on key compliance initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, experience with Sage software, and a background in casino accounting. Candidates with nonprofit or NGO accounting experience may also be considered due to the specialized reporting and compliance requirements of the organization.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post general journal entries.
• Process and support payroll functions.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Maintain accurate financial records and account reconciliations.
• Assist with audit preparation and documentation.
• Support ongoing compliance efforts related to NGIC and Title 31 audits.
• Track and analyze revenue using Oasis revenue tracking systems.
• Monitor and report on operational and financial performance metrics.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership to improve efficiency and maintain reporting accuracy.

Required Qualifications Top 3 Requirements

• Experience with Sage 50 
• Strong experience preparing general journal entries
• Casino accounting experience preferred

Additional Qualifications

• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Knowledge of Oasis revenue tracking systems.
• Experience working with performance metrics and financial reporting.
• Ability to support audit requests and gather required documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Degree is not required.

Preferred Experience

• Casino accounting experience highly preferred.
• Candidates with NGO or nonprofit accounting experience will also be considered.
• Experience supporting compliance audits
