Cosmetology Instructor with Manicuring Experience – Job Description


The Cosmetology Instructor with Manicuring Experience is responsible for providing classroom, practical, and clinic-floor instruction to students while maintaining a professional, organized, safe, and positive learning environment.


The instructor will follow the school's established curriculum, lesson plans, policies, schedules, and instructional procedures. Responsibilities include teaching and demonstrating cosmetology/Manicuring theory and practical skills, supervising student services, monitoring student progress and attendance, and providing guidance to help students develop professional and technical skills.


In addition to cosmetology instruction, the instructor must have strong knowledge and hands-on experience in manicuring and nail services. The instructor should be comfortable teaching and demonstrating manicures, pedicures, nail shaping, polish application, gel polish, nail enhancements, basic nail art, proper use of nail tools and equipment, and appropriate sanitation and disinfection procedures.


The instructor is responsible for maintaining classroom and clinic-floor standards, ensuring students follow safety and sanitation requirements, assisting students with client services, and communicating student concerns or incidents to School Administration.


Qualifications & Required Experience

• Current and valid California Cosmetology or Manicuring License.
• Professional cosmetology experience required with manicuring knowledge; previous instructional experience preferred.
• Manicuring and nail service experience required.
• Strong knowledge of manicures, pedicures, nail enhancements, gel services, nail shaping, polish application, and basic nail art.
• Knowledge of proper sanitation, disinfection, infection control, and safety procedures.
• Ability to confidently demonstrate both cosmetology and manicuring techniques.
• Ability to teach, supervise, motivate, and provide constructive feedback to students.
• Strong communication and classroom-management skills.
• Must be professional, dependable, patient, organized, and able to work effectively with students at different skill levels.
• Must be able to follow established curriculum, lesson plans, school policies, and administrative direction.

Position: Cosmetology Instructor – Manicuring Experience
Employment Type: Part-Time Evening 5:30 PM- 9:30 PM
Reports To: School Director / Administration
Pay Rate: $22- $24.00 per hour
