Shift Details:

  • Full Time Schedules 

  • Some weekends may be required

  • 8 or 12 hour shifts available depending on the facility

  • Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)

Licensed Physician Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Physician is responsible for assessing and treating patients’ physical health including conducting exams and coordinating outside referrals.  

  • The role includes oversight of clinical care activities provided by ARNPs, documentation, and after-hours on-call responsibilities.  

  • This position performs minor procedures and collaborates with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff to ensure integrated care. 

  •  Physicians also educate patients and families, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and tailor treatment plans to the patient's age and development.  

  • Travel may be required depending on facility needs, and work is primarily in correctional or clinical settings.

  • Assess patients’ physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures

  • Provide and oversee documentation, outside referrals, consultations, and follow-ups

  • Offer clinical oversight and support to ARNPs, including care provision and documentation review

  • Perform minor medical procedures such as sutures, IV placement, and lumbar puncture

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families




Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university

  • Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting

  • Psychiatric experience preferred

  • Licensed in the state of employment

  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications

  • Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine

  • Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

  • Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
