Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Two years of experience in customer service or public contact to include receipt, coordination and distribution of supplies, products or inventory control are required. Must possess a Driver license. Applicants will be subject to an extensive screening process to include background investigation, fingerprint check and polygraph examination. Completion of college coursework may substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.

The C&R Commissary Specialist is responsible for the receipt, inventory, preparation, transportation, delivery, and distribution of commissary and hygiene items to inmates housed within Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation facilities. The position regularly operates a box truck and requires employees to safely load, transport, and handle supplies and commissary items. Responsibilities include preparing and distributing Commissary and I-Care bags, maintaining inventory and distribution records, and ensuring that items are accurately delivered to designated detention facilities and distributed to the respective inmate. The position requires the ability to safely lift, carry, and handle heavy items and work effectively in a correctional environment while following established security and operational procedures.
