  • Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

  • Night: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

• Schedule: 3×12 hours

• Scheduled Hours: 36 hours/week

• Experience Required: 2+ years

• Weekend: Every other weekend

• Holidays: As needed

• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients

• Unit: 18-bed Family Practice + 10-bed Forensic unit

• Clinical Experience: Inpatient RN Med-Surg/Tele experience required

• Forensic/Correctional Experience: Preferred

• DOC Patients: May care for 0-10 Wisconsin Department of Corrections patients at a time

• Responsibilities: Care for patients with complex acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and various Med-Surg diagnoses

• IV Skills: Experience starting IVs required

• Telemetry: Traveler must pass a Telemetry test before being cleared to start

• EMR: EPIC experience required

• BLS: AHA BLS required

• RN License: Active RN license required

• Correctional Environment: Nurses collaborate with Department of Corrections officers while caring for incarcerated patients

• Security: DOC officers accompany staff when assisting correctional patients

• Training: Specific training provided for the forensic patient population

• Day/Night Rotation: No more than 2 day/night flips within a 6-week scheduling period unless requested by the employee

• Rest Between Flips: 36 hours off will be scheduled between the end of a night shift and the beginning of a patient-care day shift
