About the Role:
As a Corporate Tax Director, you will serve as a key leader within our Corporate Tax Solutions Family, focusing on business income tax planning, corporate compliance, and complex ASC 740 income tax accounting projects. In this highly visible role, you will hold the primary tax relationship with our clients and oversee engagement management across multiple accounts.
Success in the Director role serves as the primary pathway to Partner or Managing Director within the firm. You will collaborate closely with specialists and team members, including our Washington National Tax Office (WNTO), to support all facets of our clients' tax functions. Backed by robust tools, technology, and firm-wide support, you will be empowered to deliver unparalleled quality, drive growth, and lead high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Practice Leadership & Business Development: Drive firm growth and profitability by leveraging your external network to achieve sales and revenue targets. Identify opportunities to cross-sell services to existing and potential clients, and participate in industry/community events to elevate the firm's brand.
Engagement & Financial Management: Supervise multiple client service teams and manage engagement fundamentals, including realization, utilization, leverage, accounts receivable, expenses, and project budgets.
Tax Technical & Review Duties: Conduct primary and secondary reviews of highly complex tax returns and ASC 740 income tax provision engagements. Provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise across a variety of industries.
Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary service team contact. Develop a deep understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives to execute tailored tax strategies.
Team Development & Mentorship: Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects. Assess team performance for both engagement and year-end reviews.
Research & Compliance: Research and consult on complex tax matters. Maintain the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality at all times.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves):
Education & Licensure: Bachelor's degree in Accounting. An active CPA or JD/active attorney's license is strictly required.
Experience Level: Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive tax compliance and/or consulting experience.
Public Accounting Background: Prior experience at the Manager, Senior Manager, or Director level within a public accounting firm is required. (Note: Candidates who have been out of public accounting for more than 3 years will not be considered).
Corporate Tax Expertise: Extensive corporate and/or federal tax experience working with large, multinational clients. Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, broad-based statutory income tax compliance, state and local income taxes, international taxation, and transfer pricing.
