Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Associate Attorney Atlanta, Georgia
Our client is seeking a Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Associate with 1–4 years of experience in bankruptcy and workout matters to join its growing Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice Group in Atlanta.
This is an outstanding opportunity to gain sophisticated, hands-on experience representing a range of parties in bankruptcy and insolvency matters, while also handling general outside counsel work on commercial and litigation matters outside of insolvency. Associates receive meaningful responsibility and direct client exposure from the outset while collaborating with experienced practitioners across the firm's national platform.
Responsibilities
- Represent debtors, creditors, committees, trustees, and other parties in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings.
- Handle out-of-court workouts, restructurings, and related commercial disputes.
- Support Chapter 11 cases from filing through plan confirmation, including related litigation and contested matters.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and other bankruptcy-specific filings.
- Take on general outside counsel work on commercial and litigation matters unrelated to insolvency.
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices on sophisticated restructuring and insolvency matters.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.
- 1–4 years of substantive bankruptcy and workout experience required — practicing lawyers without bankruptcy experience will not be considered.
- Experience in transactional, commercial, or litigation matters is a plus.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Third-year law students with demonstrated bankruptcy coursework and writing, and bankruptcy law clerks, will also be considered.
- Active license to practice law in Georgia is required.
