    Job Description 
    Position Title: Corporate Recruiter/ HR Assistant 
    Department: Human Resources 
    Reports to: Human Resources Lead 
    Employment Status: Full-time
    FLSA Status: Exempt 
     
    Position Summary
    The Recruiter/HR Assistant will focus primarily on sourcing candidates and managing the company’s recruiting systems and processes. This role will involve screening candidates, scheduling interviews, conducting reference and background checks, and ensuring a seamless recruitment experience for candidates and hiring managers alike. The recruiter will also work closely with hiring managers to develop strategies that align with company goals and staffing needs. In addition to recruiting, this position will assist the corporate team and HR department as needed with general HR functions.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
    Recruiting (70%)
    • Administer the company’s applicant tracking system including posting jobs, reviewing candidates, scheduling interviews, and dispositioning candidates
    • Work with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and keep them engaged during the hiring process
    • Use recruiting tools like job boards and social media to target candidates and drive applicant flow
    • Maintain an active social media presence to drive applicant flow and promote the company brand
    • Work with post-secondary schools (like colleges and technical schools) and community organizations to develop candidate pipelines for strategic positions
    • Respond to applicant inquiries via phone, text, email, and social media
    • Serve as the liaison between the candidate and the HR and hiring manager to coordinate pre-hire activities such as reference checks, background checks, drug screening or any other administrative needs.
    • Attend in-person recruiting events such as job fairs, trade organization meetings, and other events identified as opportunity to increase the exposure of the company and attract qualified candidates
    Onboarding (10%)
    • Conduct reference checks and background checks as part of the pre-employment process
    • Assist with the new hire onboarding process by coordinating orientation sessions, collecting new hire paperwork, and ensuring smooth transitions into the company
    HR and Administrative Support (20%)
    • Assist with maintaining employee files, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date
    • Provide support to the corporate HR team on various initiatives as needed, such as employee engagement, benefits administration, and policy updates
    • Support general HR administrative duties, such as answering phones, scheduling meetings, and coordinating calendars
    • Help coordinate company events, meetings, and volunteer opportunities
    • Assist with any other duties as assigned by HR leadership

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
    • Associates degree in business, communications, psychology, marketing, or another related field OR any combination of related education and experience
    • Previous experience in recruiting or talent acquisition, with a focus on sourcing and screening candidates
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and both in-person and virtual
    • Time management and organization skills
    • Ability to work independently with little hands-on supervision required.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information.
    • Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point is essential
    • Proficiency in social media use and willingness to maintain an active presence on social media for recruiting
    • General aptitude for technology
    Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
    • Previous experience using HRIS and ATS applications
    • Some background in the service industry, retail, or people facing customer service preferred
    • Exhibit extraordinary discretion, confidentiality, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with our team

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The majority of the duties of this position involve sitting at a stationary workstation and working on a computer and phone. Candidates must have the ability to travel to states across the southeast occasionally to participate in events and engagement activities.
