Role Summary
The Corporate Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing for a high volume, multi state workforce, including union populations. This position supports payroll operations end to end, identifying and resolving data issues, partnering with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with complex payroll requirements. The role offers hands on exposure to large scale payroll systems and opportunities to grow into audit and advanced payroll functions.
Key Responsibilities
Process high volume payroll on a regular cycle, including union payroll schedules
Review incoming payroll files, identify errors, and coordinate corrections with internal teams
Manually key and adjust payroll data when system uploads identify exceptions
Process payroll for complex jurisdictions, including California employees
Calculate and apply garnishments accurately and in compliance with regulations
Generate payroll reports, export and consolidate data in Excel, and perform data analysis using pivot tables and lookups
Partner with offshore processing teams to ensure accurate payroll execution
Support payroll auditing activities and ongoing process improvement initiatives
Key Requirements
One to two plus years of hands on payroll processing experience in a high volume environment
Experience supporting large employee populations across multiple states
Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and advanced lookups
Familiarity with payroll systems such as SAP Global View or workforce timekeeping platforms
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Basic understanding of payroll compliance including garnishments and union payroll
Strong attention to detail, problem solving ability, and communication skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with SAP Global View strongly preferred
Exposure to Dayforce or ADP payroll systems
Union and construction payroll experience
Certified Payroll Professional or coursework toward certification
