We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to support the legal and compliance functions of a growing medical device company. This role provides hands-on support in contract management, regulatory documentation, corporate governance, and legal operations.
The ideal candidate has experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, managing contract lifecycle processes (CLM), and supporting attorneys in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position works directly under the supervision of one or more Attorneys, in accordance with the American Bar Association (ABA) definition of a Paralegal.
This is a high-demand role that requires flexibility. Overtime and weekend work are a regular and expected part of the position.
Assist Attorneys with drafting, reviewing, and maintaining contract templates (NDAs, commercial agreements, rebate agreements, vendor agreements, clinical trial agreements, consulting agreements, etc.)
Track contract lifecycles, deadlines, renewals, and approvals
Support development and implementation of document management systems (DMS) and contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools
Coordinate contract negotiations with internal stakeholders and occasional external parties
Maintain contract logs and ensure proper routing procedures
Draft letters and other legal documents; proofread and ensure accuracy
Perform contract comparisons and revisions
Perform additional duties under Attorney supervision as assigned
Assist with regulatory filings and document management related to FDA submissions and product approvals
Maintain records to ensure compliance with FDA, EU MDR, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulations
Monitor and support implementation of compliance updates, including Sunshine Act and transparency requirements
Support corporate filings and maintain minute books and corporate records
Assist with preparation of board and committee materials and resolutions
Conduct legal research related to medical devices, intellectual property, employment law, and related areas
Maintain confidentiality and ensure data security across legal processes
Support policy development and internal training initiatives
Schedule appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements
Provide general administrative support to the legal department
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience)
Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal environment
Prior experience in life sciences, healthcare, or medical device industry preferred
Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
Experience managing contract lifecycle processes (CLM)
Familiarity with regulatory documentation and corporate governance processes
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent attention to detail and proofreading ability
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage shifting priorities in a demanding environment
Professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience with document management systems (DMS)
Must be willing and able to commute onsite to 505 Park Ave, 5 days per week
Overtime and weekend work are a regular and expected part of this role
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work (potentially exceeding 12 hours)
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
Occasional travel for team meetings or company events
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and discretion
