    Miller Johnson is seeking an accomplished Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions attorney with an established practice to join our growing Corporate, M&A Practice Group and Detroit office.     What You'll Do

    As a Member of our Corporate, M&A Practice Group, you will:

    • Lead and develop your existing book of business, serving as primary relationship partner and strategic advisor to your clients.
    • Transition and integrate your practice into the firm, leveraging Miller Johnson's platform to enhance service delivery and client growth.
    • Drive business development initiatives, including expanding existing client relationships and cultivating new business.
    • Provide leadership within the practice group, including mentoring and training junior associates and contributing to firmwide strategic initiatives.
    • Represent buyers, sellers, investors, and business owners in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions across a variety of industries.
    • Lead all phases of the transaction lifecycle, including structuring, due diligence, drafting and negotiating definitive agreements, closing, and post-closing integration matters.
    • Develop practical, business-focused strategies that help clients achieve their strategic and operational objectives.
    • Collaborate closely with colleagues across practices, including tax, labor and employment, real estate, intellectual property, and litigation, to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
    • Mentor and support the professional development of associates and counsel while fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
    • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Corporate, M&A Practice Group and Detroit office.

    What You Bring

    The successful candidate will bring sound judgment, exceptional client service, and an entrepreneurial approach to practice growth.

    Qualifications include:

    • Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school.
    • Admission to the Michigan State Bar or eligibility to waive into Michigan.
    • Significant experience representing clients in mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters.
    • Demonstrated experience handling sophisticated mid-market transactions.
    • An established portable book of business.
    • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and business counseling skills.
    • Demonstrated success developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
    • The ability to manage multiple complex transactions and competing priorities effectively.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • A collaborative approach to practice and a desire to contribute to firm leadership and growth.
