Corporate Controller (CPA required)

Location: Bethesda, MD | Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote)

A growing real estate organization is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead its corporate accounting function and oversee financial reporting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Treasury, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting.
Oversee AP, Payroll, Treasury, cash management, and banking relationships.
Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and processes.
Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, tax reporting, and lender requirements.
Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members.
Partner with senior leadership, HR, Asset Management, Tax, auditors, and lenders.
Identify risks and opportunities and drive process improvements and automation.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
CPA required.
8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
3–5+ years of experience leading accounting, AP, Payroll, or Treasury teams.
Experience overseeing AP, Payroll, and Treasury functions.
Multi-entity consolidation and real estate experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls.
Advanced Excel skills.
Experience with payroll, AP automation, and banking/treasury platforms preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
