    Key responsibilities:

    • Leads the company's financial preparation for the IPO, including the coordination of audits, SEC filings, and the creation of necessary financial documents (S-1 filings, etc).
    • Collaborates closely with the CFO, legal, auditors, and underwriters to ensure successful public offering processes.
    • Prepares accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
    • Develops and maintains all necessary accounting policies and systems, ensuring that records are kept in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Maintains a strong internal controls environment that adheres to SOX standards.
    • Manages and coordinates external audits, working closely with auditors to ensure a smooth and compliant process.
    • Manages the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring all transactions are recorded and reconciled.
    • Manages and mentors a team of accountants and finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Drives efficiencies in financial processes and systems, leveraging technology to optimize reporting operations.
    • Provides CFO and executive team with actionable financial insights to guide business decisions.
    • Works closely with HR, R&D, Operations and other departments to align financial planning with business strategies.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    What we are looking for:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required (inactive acceptable) and Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
    • 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience with a minimum of 3 years in a corporate Controller or similar role.
    • Proven experience leading a company through an IPO or preparing for one is preferred.
    • Expertise in GAAP, SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and financial operations in a highly regulated industry.
    • Strong working knowledge of federal, state and local tax compliance.
    • Experience with technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting and inventory valuation/treatment.
    • Strong knowledge of systems including ERP's such as Microsoft AX 2013, expense management tools and AP automation.
    • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing accounting teams.
    • Industry experience in MedTech, or life sciences, ideally with Class III devices and knowledge of the manufacturing and electrophysiology space is preferred.
    • Must have a "builder" mentality; hands on; detail oriented.
    • Exceptional analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
