    Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Corporate Controller for a high-growth, technology-driven organization with a large national footprint. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Austin, Texas, requiring 3-4 days per week onsite, with relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Corporate Controller will own the accounting function for a dynamic, scaling organization, leading the close process, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and audit activities. Reporting to the VP of Accounting, this leader will bring significant expertise in revenue recognition and ASC 606 while partnering closely with FP&A, Legal, Sales, and senior finance leadership on new products, contracts, pricing models, and business initiatives. This is an opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader to manage and develop a talented team while strengthening the processes and infrastructure needed to support continued organizational growth.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Own the monthly and quarterly close process from end to end, including supporting schedules, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and ensuring accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements.

    • Lead technical accounting activities, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 lease accounting, technical accounting memos, and implementation of new accounting standards.

    • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, cash management, internal controls, and accounting documentation.

    • Manage annual financial statement and compliance audits, serving as a key point of contact for external auditors and supporting audit requests, schedules, and technical accounting matters.

    • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 3-4 accounting professionals, establishing priorities, reviewing work, and building scalable accounting processes and systems.

    • Partner with FP&A, Legal, Sales, Deal Desk, and senior finance leadership to evaluate the accounting implications of new products, contracts, pricing structures, and business models and present accounting positions and close results to leadership.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Proven experience operating at the Controller level within a similarly sized or larger organization, with the ability to own a complex accounting function in a scaling environment.

    • Significant expertise in revenue accounting, ASC 606, GAAP, financial reporting, and technical accounting; experience with ASC 842 is highly valued.

    • Demonstrated experience leading external audits, preparing supporting schedules and technical accounting documentation, and assisting with tax schedules and related compliance activities.

    • Strong people leadership experience with the ability to develop accounting teams while partnering effectively with FP&A, Legal, Sales, and executive stakeholders.

    • CPA, Big 4 experience, and NetSuite experience are preferred, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and executive communication skills.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    This position offers a competitive base salary of up to $215,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
