Location: Lakewood, CO
Compensation: Competitive base salary + bonus

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and growing infrastructure services company specializing in transportation, construction, and intelligent infrastructure solutions. With a strong presence across multiple markets and a history of growth through both organic expansion and acquisitions, the company is looking for a Corporate Controller to lead its accounting and financial reporting functions.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys working in a growing, operationally focused environment and can partner closely with executive leadership.

Position Overview of Corporate Controller:

The Corporate Controller will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the organization. This individual will lead the month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes, internal controls, and accounting operations.

The Controller will also play an important role in supporting continued growth, including acquisitions, integration of new entities, process improvements, and ERP/system initiatives.

Key Responsibilities of Corporate Controller:

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• 
  
• Oversee preparation and review of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reporting, and account reconciliations.
• 
  
• Oversee WIP schedules, project accounting, job costing, change orders, and project performance reporting.
• 
  
• Partner with operations and project teams to understand financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• 
  
• Manage and develop the accounting team, providing leadership, training, and accountability.
• 
  
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and other core accounting functions.
• 
  
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.
• 
  
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• 
  
• Partner with executive leadership on financial planning, operational decisions, and business strategy.
• 
  
• Support external audits, tax filings, and other compliance requirements.
• 
  
• Assist with acquisition due diligence and the integration of acquired businesses into the corporate accounting structure.
• 
  
• Participate in ERP implementations, system integrations, and process improvement initiatives.
• 
  
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, automation, efficiency, and visibility across the accounting function.
• 
  
• Ensure accounting practices comply with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 
  
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or senior accounting leadership experience.
• 
  
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering, contracting, or another project-based environment strongly preferred.
• 
  
• Strong understanding of WIP, job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project financial reporting.
• 
  
• Experience managing and developing an accounting team.
• 
  
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
• 
  
• Experience with ERP systems; Viewpoint Spectrum or similar construction accounting software is a plus.
• 
  
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• 
  
• Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or other organizational growth initiatives is preferred.
• 
  
• CPA is preferred but not required.
•
