The Flat Gold Project is recruiting for its seasonal exploration program in Flat, Alaska, anticipated to run between May and October. 

 

 

Job Description:
The Core Cutter will be responsible for cutting diamond drill core using an automatic or manual rock saw, bagging and tagging core samples, reconciling cut samples, and preparing samples for shipment during the 2026 field season. The individual will be working with the Geology Coordinator to ensure sampling procedures are followed. 

 

Key Responsibilities:
• Cut and sample diamond drill core while maintaining accurate sample boundaries as established by the Geologists
• Prepare, label, and cross-check core samples for shipment
• Maintain inventory of drill support supplies
• Maintain a clean work area and be accountable for the proper care of tools and equipment
• Assist geology department with organization of core laydown
• Comply with safety & health, environmental and Company policies and procedures
• Support field operations, as needed
• Other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred 
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Experience working in remote camp settings preferred 
• Ability to implement and adhere to safety standards required

 

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be frequently required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time, use hand and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, 
distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.


This position is a 2 - 3 week on / 2 - 3 weeks off rotation, working a 12-hour daily shift.
