    We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Patient Access Representative to join our dynamic healthcare environment.     Key Responsibilities

    • Greeting and assisting patients in person and over the phone in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Operate a multi-line telephone system to answer, screen, and forward calls; take messages and schedule referral appointments.
    • Check patients in and out, verify insurance and benefit coverage, and collect co-pays or outstanding balances at the time of service.
    • Assemble and maintain patient charts, including preparation for new and walk-in patients.
    • Run daily patient count reports and provide copies to the Office Manager.
    • Assist patients with paperwork and track “walk-outs”. Follow up with patients to reschedule missed appointments.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and reception area.
    • Monitor and manage waiting room TV content to ensure it is appropriate for all audiences.
    • Ensure patients complete satisfaction surveys and submit them securely.
    • Notify medical assistants of patient arrivals and delays to maintain schedule flow.
    • Respond to patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
    • Assist in emergency situations and provide comfort to patients in distress.
    • Maintain office supply inventory and notify supervisor of shortages.
    • Balance and reconcile payments collected during shifts.
    • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
    • Use EMR system efficiently for patient records and scheduling.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Previous experience in a receptionist or front desk role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
    • Proficient in English (oral and written communication).
    • Strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records.
    • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 10 pounds, and perform light physical tasks.
    • This position operates in a professional medical office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
