    Job Goal:

    The Coordinator - Strategic Communications Services is a seasoned marcomm professional who supports the Marketing and Communications teams at Region 4 ESC by providing direct services to schools and school systems in our region.

    This role is responsible for generating leads, presenting to prospective and existing customers, closing new business and renewals, while strengthening relationships with districts, partners, and external stakeholders.

    The Coordinator will execute proven marketing and communications tactics that further our school systems and their goals, including but not limited to: marketing, communications, family and community engagement, and crisis work.

    Reporting to the Chief - Strategic Communications & Strategic Engagement, this entrepreneurial position will provide Region 4 school systems with marketing and communications support and act as an extension of their team, as needed.

    Qualifications:

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or related field

    Experience:

    • 5 years of communications or marketing experience
    • Experience developing strategic partnerships and engagement initiatives
    • Proven track record of success in meeting or exceeding financial goals

    Special Knowledge and Skills:

    • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
    • Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills
    • Crisis communications and executive advisory experience
    • Financial and business acumen
    • Expertise in Microsoft 365, Canva, and project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, Wrike).

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities that expand Region 4's reach while managing key client relationships with districts, partners, and vendors.
    • Provide crisis communications guidance, messaging development, and district capacity-building support.
    • Build and maintain relationships with district leaders, external partners, and vendors to strengthen Region 4's presence and expand opportunities for collaboration.
    • Develop messaging frameworks, talking points, and crisis communications planning and response support to school leaders.
    • Build and implement district communications tools and systems.
    • Support Region 4's internal marketing strategy and campaign planning as needed, including contributing to departmental and organizational goals by supporting marketing and communications initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Assist with in-person activation events including conferences, training, and key launches.
    • Perform all other duties, tasks, and responsibilities assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

    Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may work prolonged and irregular hours; work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure.
