Description

Overview: Facilitates excellent patient centered customer service and proficiently processes requests for radiological exams.Obtains pertinent information needed to perform intake triage, appointment scheduling, referral processing, registration of new patients, and referral of patients to faculty physicians, based on knowledge of administrative protocols and in accordance with policies and procedures in a high volume work queue and real-time environment. Effectively communicates with clinics, physicians, technical staff, and patients. Protects the fiscal interest of the enterprise by reviewing orders for completeness by comparing requested exam to reason stated for the exam to verify compatibility. Competent in following compliance procedures, keeps up to date with revisions. Displays proficiency in the EPIC electronic health record, Scanning Orders in Web based appointment (Media Imaging) and have a working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, ICD-10 and CPT coding. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clerical and/or customer service experience required, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality-related environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, basic anatomy, CPT coding, and ICD-10 coding preferred through either on-the-job experience or successful completion of related coursework.
  • Demonstrated clinical aptitude and ability to understand healthcare processes.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using multiple software applications and electronic systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain professional and perform effectively in stressful, urgent, or challenging situations.
  • Comfortable discussing financial responsibilities and personal health information with patients in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team while maintaining a high level of patient focus.
  • Comfortable obtaining and sharing information with patients, physicians, clinic staff, and technical/clinical personnel.
