    What you’ll do:  

    In this role, you will serve as a key operational partner, coordinating patient access activities, supporting team members, and working closely with leadership to ensure efficient, high-quality service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare professional who enjoys mentoring others, driving process improvements, and creating a positive experience for patients and colleagues alike.

    As the Coordinator, Patient Access & Pre-Service, you will:

    • Coordinate daily operational, technical, and clerical activities to support efficient department workflows.
    • Assist leadership in managing patient access functions, including registration, scheduling, financial clearance, emergency department access, and related services.
    • Monitor and prioritize patient flow to ensure timely service, patient safety, and effective workload distribution.
    • Serve as a resource and mentor for team members, providing guidance, training, and support.
    • Lead and coordinate onboarding and orientation activities for new colleagues.
    • Support ongoing education, coaching, and professional development of team members.
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop, implement, and improve departmental policies, procedures, and operational standards.
    • Utilize multiple healthcare systems and applications to support data collection, patient information management, and workflow optimization.
    • Participate in performance improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, patient experience, and quality outcomes.
    • Identify workflow challenges and contribute to the development and implementation of effective solutions.
    • Communicate departmental goals, expectations, and performance standards to team members.
    • Support patient registration, financial screening, point-of-service collections, patient check-in processes, and wayfinding services.
    • Assist management with staffing coordination, performance feedback, and operational planning.

    What you’ll need for this job:  

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent  

    • Minimum of three (3) years' experience with competency in patient access, pre-service & / or registration experience.
    • Ability to obtain a national certification in HFMA CRCR & / or NAHAM CHAA within one (1) year of hire.

    Additional Qualifications (nice to have)

    • Previous Leadership Experience
    • Knowledge of federal or state government agencies including but not limited to Medicare, Medicaid, VA or Charity 
    • Care programs, or patient management & healthcare accounts receivable within the revenue cycle

    Compensation

    Pay Range: $19.07- $29.55 per hour

    Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
