Coordinator of Athletic Communications (211-Day)

Responsibilities: Provide support to the Assistant Director of Athletics Communications as a source of information for selected intercollegiate programs including news, scores, statistics, and other information to media outlets and conference offices. Assist in the production of electronic/printed content to promote the departments athletics programs, student-athletes, home athletic events, fundraising efforts and community service initiatives.

Overview:

This person will assist the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in all aspects of Athletic Communications for the department, specifically focusing on intercollegiate athletics. This position will follow a 211-Day Calendar.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Recreational Education, Health, Sports Administration, Communication, Journalism or other related discipline. Required
• Master's Degree in Sports Administration, Communication, Journalism or related discipline. Preferred

EXPERIENCE

• 1-3 years' experience in an NCAA athletic/recreational program with a background in sports information/journalism. Required

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

• Evidence of creativity and ingenuity in developing programs and solving problems. Required
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required
• Self-starter. Required
• Strong writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills. Required
• Ability to manage multiple sports, projects, deadlines, and responsibilities simultaneously. Required
• Knowledge of athletic statistics and sports information operations. Preferred
• Experience with website content management systems and social media platforms. Required
• Possession of a valid driver's license. Required
• Familiarity with data processing and statistical procedure. Preferred

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to the Assistant Director of Athletics Communications as a source of information for selected intercollegiate programs including news, scores, statistics, and other information to media outlets and conference offices.
• Assist in writing press releases, including post-game recaps, award announcements, season previews for pctwildcats.com.
• Assist in maintaining in-game and season statistics.
• Assist in compiling and submitting statistics and team results in accordance with guidelines set by NCAA, e conference, and affiliated organizations.
• Assist in updating and maintaining athletics website and historical archives/record books.
• Assist with management of department social media platforms and webcasting.
• Assist with the creation of photo and video content for digital and social platforms.
• Assist in the production of electronic/printed content to promote the departments athletics programs, student-athletes, home athletic events, fundraising efforts and community service initiatives.
• Assist with the nomination process for weekly and yearly athletic and academic awards.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Athletics Communications on all Athletics marketing & promotional initiatives in support of intercollegiate athletics.
• Ensure safety and security at all events, communicating concerns to College Police and the Director of Athletics
• Physical Standards and Special Job Features: None Pay Transparency: Based on minimum education and experience qualifications the yearly salary range is $43,000 - $48,000.
