    Job Summary

    Big Sandy Community & Technical College is seeking a creative, collaborative, and community-focused professional to serve as the Coordinator of Arts Education. This position plays a key role in connecting the educational mission of BSCTC with the artistic and cultural opportunities of the Mountain Arts Center (MAC). The Coordinator will develop and manage educational, performing arts, student engagement, workforce, and community programs that enrich learning experiences and strengthen community partnerships.

    Job Duties:

    • Serve as the primary liaison between the Mountain Arts Center and BSCTC to develop, coordinate, and implement academic, workforce, student engagement, and community programming.
    • Collaborate with academic divisions, Student Affairs, Workforce Solutions, Career Services, and other college stakeholders to expand educational opportunities and community impact.
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with regional K-12 school districts to create educational experiences such as field trips, workshops, career exploration activities, and hands-on learning opportunities that support college and career readiness.
    • Assist the Mountain Arts Center Director in planning, promoting, and executing educational productions and special events presented by BSCTC, ensuring programs align with institutional goals and community needs.
    • Help coordinate and produce choral performances, band showcases, musical theatre productions, and other performing arts events involving K-12 students, college students, and community participants.
    • Coordinate educational, artistic, and enrichment-focused summer camps and youth programs, including recruitment, scheduling, logistics, and program evaluation.
    • Provide artistic and administrative leadership for the Big Sandy Singers, including participant recruitment, rehearsal planning, music selection, performance scheduling, and community engagement.
    • Lead the planning and execution of the Big Sandy Idol Program, including outreach to participating schools, audition coordination, stakeholder communication, event management, and production of semi-final and final competitions at the Mountain Arts Center.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor''s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of related professional experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to coordinate programs, events, and partnerships.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with educational institutions, community organizations, and arts partners.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in arts education, music, theatre, or community arts programming.
    • Experience working with K-12 schools, higher education institutions, or nonprofit organizations.
    • Event planning, project management, and community engagement experience.
    • Experience directing or coordinating performing arts groups or productions.
